In the fifth episode of Futuhat, Dr Stef Keris explains how Islam reached the Americas. Taken from his book The Islamic History of Europe, the following subjects are presented:

• African Muslims who became famous in America including Yarrow Mamout and Ayuba Suleiman Diallo
• The presence of Muslim communities is the Dominican Republic, Guyana, Brazil, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago
• Ottoman exploration of the Americas by Ahmed Muhiddin Piri Reis
